Penn State Hockey: Larsson Signs ATO Deal With Binghamton Devils

by on March 26, 2019 11:56 AM

Former Nittany Lion centerman Ludvig Larsson has signed an amateur tryout agreement (ATO) with the Binghamton Devils of the American Hockey League (AHL). The announcement came from Binghmaton’s general manager, Tom Fitzgerald on the team's website.

Binghamton is the AHL affiliate of the New Jersey Devils.

Larsson recently completed his final season of NCAA eligibility with the Nittany Lions after using the graduate transfer rule to join Penn State back in August following three seasons at Merrimack College.

The swede finished the season with a career-high 25 points on nine goals and a career-best 16 assists while skating in all 39 games. Larsson was also one of the best face-off men in the country finishing the season tenth in the nation winning 59.6 percent of his draws.

For his career, Larsson skated in 130 games between Merrimack and Penn State scoring 33 goals while adding 37 assists for 70 points.

Larsson is the first of his senior class to sign any kind of professional contract, but it stands to reason many of his teammates will do the same in the coming days.
