Penn State hockey captain and recent graduate James Robinson has found a home overseas the Nittany Lions announced on Tuesday.

In a twist of fate, Robinson will now be teammates with former Penn State captain and Nittany Lion teammate Tommy Olczyk in France as members of the HC Cergy-Pontoise. The Jokers play in France’s Division I league.

The Alberta native served as team captain in 2017-18 and had a career-year scoring six goals, including a hat-trick against Mercyhurst, while adding five assists for 11 points. Robinson concluded his time at Penn State playing in 96 games scoring 13 goals while adding 10 assists.

“Without the resources provided to me by Penn State my dream of playing professional hockey wouldn’t have been possible,” Robinson said in a statement. “I owe everything to the school, my coaches, my teammates and everyone else who has contributed to my success.”

As previously reported, former Nittany Lion, Erik Autio will be heading back home to Finland joining former Nittany Lion teammate and captain David Goodwin playing for Liiga-Saipa Oy of the SM-liiga, Finnish Elite League. I

“After four great years at Penn State I am excited to return home to start my professional career,” Autio said. “I want to thank all my teammates and the entire coaching staff for helping prepare me for this next step in my hockey career.”

Autio's brother is set to enroll at Penn State as a goalie, this summer.
