Penn State Hockey: Six Game Home Stand Highlights Conference Schedule
It's far too warm outside to play hockey but that doesn't mean it's too early to think about the Big Ten 2014-15 hockey season as the conference released next season's schedule on Thursday.
In only it's second full season at the Division I level, Penn State will start conference play at Michigan Nov. 21-22 and on the road again the following week in Madison to take on the Wisconsin Badgers.
Following a four-game road trip, Penn State will return to Pegula Ice Arena to open up the home schedule against Ohio State for the first game of an six-game home stand. The Nittany Lions will close out the year alternating home and away series against Michigan State (away), Minnesota (home), Ohio State (away), Michigan (home), and Minnesota to finish the regular season on the road.
Penn State went 8-26-2 in its first season of Big Ten play beating, Michigan on three occasions as well as defeating Ohio State once and tying Michigan State. The Nittany Lions fell by a single goal 11 times marking plenty of room for improvement as well as hope for fans looking to see the program quickly rise within the ranks of college hockey.
