Penn State Police Investigating Homemade Bottle Bomb

Penn State Police are investigating the origin of an explosion that occurred when unknown actors placed household items in a plastic bottle on Tuesday near the West Halls quad.

The disorderly conduct happened at 12:22 a.m. on Tuesday. No injuries or damages were reported due to the explosion. However, police said such acts are illegal and have the potential to cause serious injury.

Anyone with information regarding this incident or similar behavior should contact Penn State Police at (814) 863-1111 or Centre County Crime Stoppers at 1-877-99-CRIME*.

Callers can also stay anonymous or may visit the Penn State University Police Silent Witness website to submit a tip. Anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
