Penn State Police Investigating Sexual Assault Involving Student
Penn State police are investigating the report of a sexual assault involving a student on campus.
Authorities say the incident reportedly happened between midnight and 2 a.m. Wednesday in the area of the North Residence Hall.
The residence hall is located in the north-central area of campus, adjacent to Park Avenue and Shortlidge Road.
Police say the suspect is known to the victim, who reported the assault to staff.
"It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the university community," Penn State police said in a prepared statement.
Penn State police also issued a safety reminder, urging students to:
- Use the Buddy System
- Report crimes immediately to police
- Report suspicious people or activity immediately to police
- Be vigilant to surroundings
