Penn State Police See 'Quiet' Arts Fest Weekend

by on July 16, 2012 6:00 AM

After five days of Arts Fest, Penn State Police described the week as no busier than years' past and certainly quieter than a weekend like State Patty's Day.

Between 5 p.m. Friday and 5 p.m. Sunday, 61 incidents were reported to Penn State Police, including one bear spotted on campus and removed with the help of animal control and police.

Police described the incidents over the weekend as "minor" in nature only.

Complete numbers were not immediately available from State College Police, so totals only reflect on-campus incidents between Wednesday and Sunday.

  • Public drunkenness: 16 incidents reported
  • Underage citations: 12
  • Transported to hospital: 9
  • Public urination: 1
