They cheered for Joe Paterno, they cheered for Bill O'Brien, they cheered for James Franklin and the cheered loudly against Jerry Sandusky.

It was quite the scene on Monday night as Penn State students ran from Old Main to Beaver Stadium before finally setting up shop in the middle of Beaver Ave in downtown State College. While some students seemed to understand that cheering that the sanctions had been lifted was a complicated matter, all seemed to feel that it was time to stop enjoying their football team and university in silence.

"I'm just happy for the players," One student said. "They didn't do anything wrong."

With the energy on campus at an all-time high during what was the sanction era of Penn State football, it only continues to elevate the hype and excitement for Penn State's meeting with Rutgers this weekend.
