A full agenda will greet the Penn State trustees today at the Nittany Lion Inn.
Their regular meeting, to begin at 9 a.m. in the basement-level boardroom, will include university President Graham Spanier's annual State of the University address, spokeswoman Lisa Powers said.
She said Spanier also is scheduled to report on Penn State's state-appropriation request for the 2011-12 year.
Other agenda items include a report on the university's latest efforts to combat dangerous drinking among students.
In addition, a "significant gift and facility announcement" will be made this morning at the inn, Penn State has indicated. That news is expected to center on the arrival of Division I hockey at University Park.
The Penn State trustees meet six times a year. Their meeting today is scheduled to conclude by 11:30 a.m. -- several hours earlier than usual. Powers said the timetable was shortened out of respect for the Jewish holy day Yom Kippur, which begins at sunset, "and the sensitivities to those who travel and need to be home."
The meeting is open to the public.
