Penn State Won't Host Big Ten Friday Night Games, But Open To One Road Trip Per Season

The Big Ten is set to announce Friday night conference games for as early as the 2017 season according to multiple national outlets.

But don't worry, Penn State won't be a part of it, at least not in State College.

"The league’s new television agreements with ESPN/ABC and Fox will include a package of six prime-time Friday games starting in 2017, commissioner Jim Delany said Wednesday." The Chicago Tribune wrote. "....Delany said the league is reluctant to ask schools with giant seating capacities to host Friday night games, so don’t expect games to be played at Ohio State or Penn State."

This sentiment was officially echoed by Penn State athletics later Wednesday afternoon, the school announcing that communicated to the Big Ten that it will not host Friday night games but is receptive to traveling to no more than one per season. Penn State is scheduled to play Maryland on the road next year, a prime candidate for a logical Friday night matchup.

The official slate of Friday night games are reportedly set to be announced within the next week according to Delany.
