Penn State Wrestlers Gear up for Big Ten Championship
The Big Ten Wrestling Championships are set to begin this weekend and Penn State will be going for its third consecutive Big Ten title in Champaign, Ill.
With pre-seeds announced on Monday, Megaludis is the No. 2 pre-seed at 125, Conaway No. 4 at 133. Pearsall is No. 4 at 141 and Andrew Alton is No. 6 at 149. Dylan Alton is No. 3 at 157. Taylor is No. 1 pre-seed at 165 and Brown is No. 5 at 174. Ruth is No. 1 at 184 and Wright is No. 1 at 197 while Lawson is No. 7 at 285.
The pre-seeds will be finalized and the brackets drawn on Friday afternoon, March 8. In this video Nico Megaludis and Jordan Conaway talk about their preparations for the Big Ten Championships, and as defending national champs, whether they still have something to prove.
Penn State wrestlers have won the last two NCAA national championships. Penn State is just the fourth team in NCAA history to win back-to-back national titles.
