A man arrested and awaiting a preliminary hearing in Centre County is a person of interest in a murder investigation in Michigan.

Adonis Drey Wilson, 35, of Pontiac, Mich. was arrested in Boggs Township on Monday for multiple charges including unsworn falsification to authorities — forged/altered document, false identification to a law enforcement officer, obscured plates, failure to carry a license, speeding and failing to use a safety belt, according to district court records.

He was arraigned before District Judge Allen Sinclair and was unable to post $25,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Sept. 11.

According to an Aug. 30 Detroit Free Press story, police have been looking for Adonis Drey Wilson in connection to a homicide investigation in which a woman in her 50s was found dead in a house that was on fire in Waterford, Mich. The Detroit Free Press said police had been looking for Wilson because he mowed the lawn of the home and was spotted at the home at 5 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 26.

At 9:13 a.m. Aug. 27, firefighters responded to a call about smoke coming from the residence. After firefighters extinguished a smoldering fire they discovered the body of the woman.

Police are investigating the death as a homicide. On Aug. 30, the Waterford Police Department issued a release identifying Wilson as a person of interest in the investigation. The release said he was believed to be driving a white 2007 Dodge Caravan bearing a Michigan license plate.

Rockview State Police were unable to provide further information. Waterford police have not yet confirmed plans to return Wilson to Michigan, according to WXYZ Detroit.
