PHOTOS: With bin Laden Dead, Penn State Crowd Packs 'Beaver Canyon'

by on May 02, 2011 12:42 PM

As thousands of people -- mostly Penn State students -- filled "Beaver Canyon" late Sunday and early Monday, just about everyone seemed to have a camera handy.

The photo gallery to the right highlights some images captured at the scene by StateCollege.com readers. The YouTube video embedded below, shot by Beaver Avenue resident Christopher DeGeorge, gives a vivid perspective on the gathering, as well.

The downtown-State College revelers were jubilant over the death of al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden. Links to full coverage of the celebration are posted toward the bottom of this page.
