Police and Penn State Researchers Work Together to Fight Opioid Crisis

The opioid epidemic has hit Pennsylvania hard in recent years, and Pennsylvania State Police are working with Penn State researchers to counter the devastating problem.

Pennsylvania is in the top 10 states with the highest drug and opioid-related deaths in the country. Researchers at Penn State's Justice Center and state police are concentrating on drug distribution networks and how to disrupt them.

They are also focusing on public outreach, response teams and partnerships with addiction and abuse services.
