The Centre County Alcohol Task Force conducted DUI Roving Patrols and 'Cops-n-shops' details from Friday night into Sunday morning in the Centre Region.

Police said six people were arrested for DUI and six more people were arrested for furnishing alcohol to minors. Six non-traffic citations for underage drinking were issued, 28 traffic citations were issued and 77 warnings were given out for various other violations, police said.

Officers from Ferguson, Patton and Spring Township Police Departments as well as from the State College Borough, Penn State Police Department and the Centre County Sheriff's Office took part in the checkpoint.

Such actions will continue to be taken through the year in what police called an "aggressive" effort to reduce alcohol and alcohol and drug related crimes in the community.
