State College police cited a FedEx Driver after the delivery truck collided with a woman riding a bicycle.

The incident happened just before 3 p.m. Thursday in the 1300 block of South Atherton Street.

Police say Kristin Peterson was riding her bike south on South Atherton Street on the right side of the right lane when the Fed Ex truck, stopped at 1331 S. Atherton St., pulled into traffic and crossed over to the M&T Bank at 1330 S. Atherton St.

Police say the delivery truck crossed into Peterson's path and she did not have enough time to stop and avoid the collision.

Police say Peterson suffered head and other injuries. Emergency responders treated the victim at the scene.

Police say the FedEx driver, Nathan Hammel, believed traffic was clear when he crossed the four-lane road.

Police cited Hammel for a crossing roadway violation.
