Police Investigate Rape Reported on Campus

Penn State Police are investigating a report of a rape that allegedly occurred on Saturday night, less than 24 hours after the incident.

Police said a female student reported that she was sexually assaulted in a residence hall by a male student who was known to her. No other identifying details regarding either student is currently available because of the investigation, Penn State Police Chief Tyrone Parham said. 

Police did not say in which residence hall on the west side of campus the assault occurred. 

The report was made at 9:47 p.m. on Saturday, and police said the assault occurred sometime between 2-3:30 a.m. on Saturday.
