Police Investigating Report of Sexual Assault Near South Atherton Street

A woman reported to State College Police that she was sexually assaulted by an unknown male early Sunday morning.

According to police, the woman said that between 1 a.m. and 1:45 a.m. she was approached from behind by the man somewhere near South Atherton Street. The male pushed her into bushes and sexually assaulted her, she told police.

The suspect is described as a white male, 6-feet tall and weighing about 220 pounds. He has short, dark hair, was wearing dark colored jeans and spoke with a Spanish accent.
