According to the Daily Collegian, State College police were busier than usual on Saturday due to celebration of State Patty's Day by Penn State students and locals.  The most common calls responded to were for fighting, underage drinking, and alcohol overdoses.

Some of the more serious calls involved the arrest of a man early Sunday morning who hit a pedestrian while driving on the 100 block of South Atherton.  The man was pulled over and arrested in connection with DUI.  Penn State Police responded to five reports of individuals who had consumed alcohol to the degree they could no longer for themselves.

There was a fight outside of the Gingerbread Man on Heister Street involving two men around 11:15 p.m. Saturday night.  The one man was pushed to the ground and knocked unconscious.  That fight is still under investigation with assault charges pending.

Police are also investigating an incident that occurred around 6:50 p.m. Saturday when a man was kicked out of Tony's Big Easy on Pugh Street.  After being kicked out, the man urinated on the side of the building and received a nose injury after someone shoved him.  (Read More)
