on September 15, 2008 8:26 AM
According to the Daily Collegian, a 41-year-old man was beaten and stabbed three times Friday night while walking in downtown State College.  Police are still releasing few details about the incident, including the victim's condition.

The man and his wife, from the Mifflinburg area, traveled to downtown State College Friday evening around 11:15 p.m. to assist a friend who was having vehicle trouble.  After arriving downtown, the man exited his vehicle and began to search for his friend around the 400 block of East College Avenue and Beaver Avenue.

The man was walking when he was hit in the head and stabbed three times.  Despite being injured, the man was able to walk to the intersection of Beaver Avenue and Locust Lane to flag down his wife who drove him to Mount Nittany Medical Center.

The man was not able to provide a description of his attacker.  The man was later transported to Altoona Hospital because of the extent of his injuries.  The man's name has not yet been released.  (Read More)
