PS4RS Announces Top Six Candidates in Endorsement Process

by and on March 03, 2014 4:00 PM

Penn Staters for Responsible Stewardship, a somewhat controversial group aimed at reforming the Penn State Board of Trustees, has announced the six finalists for its endorsement in the upcoming board election.

The finalists were chosen by a diverse selection committee that whittled down the field of 32 candidates to the final six over the weekend. About half of that group sought the PS4RS endorsement.

PS4RS members will choose between Rudy Glocker, Bob Jubelirer, Gavin Keirans, Albert Lord, Alice Pope, and Vincent Tedesco III to award their three coveted endorsements.

The group has been a bit of a kingmaker in recent history. All three of its endorsed candidates (Bill Oldsey, Barbara Doran, and Ted Brown) won the board of trustees alumni election by wide margins last year.

At the end of the week, PS4RS leadership will host and record a private town hall meeting with the six candidates. A video will be posted online after the meeting. PS4RS membership will then vote from March 10 to March 15 to select its three endorsed candidates.

Three alumni seats on the board are up for grabs. Incumbents Joel Myers and Jesse Arnelle are running for reelection. Incumbent Marianne Alexander is not running for another term. Voting in the trustee election will begin on April 10. Results will be announced on May 9.

Here are the video bios for the top six candidates being considered for PS4RS endorsements:
