Report: Jay Paterno Announces He's Writing a Book About his Father
Jay Paterno's book about his father will focus on Joe Paterno's relationship with his family, football players and the Penn State community, he said in an exclusive interview with the Centre Daily Times and WJAC-TV.
Paterno told The Centre Daily Times and WJAC-TV in a joint interview that his book is "more than 80 percent" completed and hopes to have it out by the fall.
Paterno also talked about his family's counter report to the Freeh report, defending his father as his family continues to publicize its patriarch's innocence and that he had nothing to do with any alleged concealment of Jerry Sandusky's sex crimes.
In their report released Sunday, four independent experts each wrote a report that found the Freeh report to be 'fundamentally flawed' and wrongly characterized Paterno.
Jay Paterno, who is a regular contributor to StateCollege.com, told the Centre Daily Times and WJAC-TV his father would have believed Freeh got many of his facts wrong.
"My dad was always someone who gave people the benefit of the doubt, which is certainly more than Louis Freeh gave him," he said in the interview.
