AccuWeather is predicting snow accumulation this weekend for the State College area.

Meteorologist Paul Walker said 3 to 6 inches of snow is expected between Friday night and Saturday night.

"The storm will move into the State College area late Friday night and it will be snowy here by dawn on Saturday morning," Walker said.

Snow is expected to fall throughout the day on Saturday and into Saturday night.

Snow will end Saturday night and shift to sleet or freezing rain as warm air moves into the region, which will cause the snow to melt as it falls, Walker said.

The high for Friday will be 28 degrees. Friday night, when the snow is moving in, the low will be about 20 degrees.

On Saturday the high will be about 30 and Saturday night the low will be around 26.

Sunday is expected to be a cold day with a couple snow showers and around 31.
