Special Weather Statement: Heavy Rain & Thunderstorms Possible

The National Weather Service has issued a special weather statement: A line of heavy showers and thunderstorms is moving through the region.

Those storms may include wind gusts up to 40 mph and torrential downpours.

Water may pond on roads creating dangerous driving conditions.

Some areas could see up to two inches of rainfall. Poor drainage areas may overflow and water levels could rise quickly on small streams and creeks.

As a result, A flood watch will remain in effect until approximately 8:00 p.m.
