State College Man Cleared on Assault Charges
A State College man, accused of attacking another man with a hammer, has been found not guilty.
Dustin Emel, 20, was arrested last November. Police said Emel hit his girlfriend's ex-boyfriend with a hammer, according to court documents.
However, on Thursday, a Centre County jury cleared Emel on several charges including aggravated assault and recklessly endangering another person.
The alleged attack happened on Nov. 24, 2013 on Stratford Drive. According to police, the victim was getting out of his car when another man wearing a black ski mask and black sweater hit him in the head.
Court documents say the victim sustained a three inch cut on his head as a result of the attack.
