State College Man in Critical Condition after Falling from Roof

A 26-year-old State College man is in critical condition after falling from the roof of a State College apartment building.

State College police and Centre LifeLink EMS responded at 2 a.m. on Sunday to Campus View Apartments, 106 E. College Ave. for a report of an individual falling from the roof.

Officers found James Newby had fallen five stories and suffered life-threatening head trauma. He was transported to UPMC Altoona and is still listed in critical condition, according to police.

"The State College Police warn individuals of the dangers associated with trespassing on roofs of buildings," a news release said.
