When NBC's "The Voice" airs this week, viewers will be treated to a performance by a State College native whose audition brought Kelly Clarkson to tears.

Stephanie Smith Skipper will appear on the show, airing at 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday.

Skipper sang Clarkson's "Piece by Piece" in her audition and drew praise from each of the four coaches -- Clarkson, Alicia Keys, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. An emotional Clarkson even joined Skipper on stage to give her a hug.

"I'm so thankful you sang that song. It means a lot to me," Clarkson said.

"One of my favorite things about you is you brought my attention to the really important thing, which is the song and the story.." Levine said. "The heart and the soul is there, and I think that ... at least on my team here, is the only place I'd ever want to start."

The sneak preview video released by "The Voice" on YouTube did not reveal who Skipper picked as her coach.

Skipper is a 2002 graduate of State College Area High School and now lives in Nashville. She released an album and several EPs under her maiden name before teaming up with her husband, Tim Skipper, to form the duo Coperlilly.
