A pedestrian who was struck by a car and injured has been cited by State College police.

It happened about 10 a.m. Tuesday on North Atherton Street at Hillcrest Avenue.

The unidentified pedestrian was reportedly pushing his bicycle across the street when he was hit.

The car's driver, who investigators say had a green light, did not see the pedestrian in time to avoid a collision.

The pedestrian suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mount Nittany Medical Center.

Police say the pedestrian crossed against the light and was cited for allegedly failing to comply with a traffic signal.

The force of the collision pushed the pedestrian's bicycle into a nearby car causing damage to that vehicle.
