State College Police Release More Details After Assault
State College Police have released photos in an investigation of an assault from July outside The Saloon that ended with a female being punched in the face by a man.
At 12:33 a.m. on July 5 outside The Saloon, 101 Hiester St., an unidentified white male punched a female in the face before punching her male friend in the head and knocking him down on the sidewalk, police said.
The assailant is described as about five feet, six inches tall, and was wearing a dark colored Hollister "CALIF" t-shirt, sunglasses on his head, long khaki shorts, black sneakers with no socks and a gold-colored necklace. In July, he had long sideburns, a thin beard, short dark brown hair and tattoos on his arms.
The man police are searching for was accompanied by at least two other white males, one of whom was heavier-set wearing a white shirt.
Police are asking that anyone who might be able to identify the suspect depicted in the images posted or has information pertaining to the incident, contact State College Police at (814) 234-7150, call CrimeStoppers at 1-877-992-7463 or submit an anonymous tip through the web.
Meanwhile, Penn State Police are investigating a theft that occurred in Ritner Hall on campus sometime between 4:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
Unidentified individuals stole a laptop computer valued at $1,300. Anyone with information should contact Penn State Police at (814) 863-1111 or Centre County Crime Stoppers at 1-877-99-CRIME. Anonymous tips can be submitted online and anyone who provides information that leads to an arrest may be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.
