State College Police: ‘Suspicious Activity’ Reported at the Sandusky Home

The State College Police are investigating a report of suspicious activity at the Sandusky home over the weekend.

A call came in at 11:13 p.m. Saturday from 130 Grandview Road in State College, where Dottie Sandusky, Jerry‘s wife, lives.

Police could not give any more information on Monday – not who reported the incident or the nature of it.

However, police did say that the report was not connected to any of the crimes Jerry Sandusky was convicted of.

The former Penn State assistant football coach currently is incarcerated at the Centre County Correctional Facility, where he awaits sentencing after being convicted on 45 of 48 counts of abusing 10 boys over a 15-year period. 

In other news:

• Police are investigating an incident in which an unidentified man broke two apartment doors, a garage window and a car window on the 1200 block of University Drive.

The report of criminal mischief was reported at 1:21 a.m. Monday. Police have yet to file charges, but an investigation is ongoing.

• A burglary that totaled about $1,950 was reported late Sunday. Police are investigating the theft of an Xbox, a Dell laptop, and some electric guitar games – presumably made for Xbox, police said.

The burglary was reported at 6:07 p.m. Sunday and is suspected to have occurred sometime between Saturday night and Sunday morning. The items were stolen from an apartment at 924 Bellaire Ave.

• A cleaning crew in Centre Court called police at 6:20 a.m. Monday to report a drunken man following a woman around the parking lot, located at 141 S. Garner St.

Police said the man was attempting to “hook up his cousin” with the woman but was instead taken to Mount Nittany Medical Center, where he was found to have a blood alcohol concentration of .274.

The man, who remains unidentified but is 20 years old, has not been charged, though he is expected to receive a summons by mail, police said.

Police could not say if the man was a Penn State student.
