State College Store Going Out of Business

by on October 08, 2013 1:10 PM

It's the final chapter for the Neebo store on East College Avenue.

The store, which bills itself as the complete college outfitter, is closing its doors at the end of October.

Neebo specializes in selling and renting college textbooks. The store also carries college apparel and collectibles.

A large sign in the window says merchandise is being sold for 75 percent off.

A manager confirms the store is closing but referred questions to the company's corporate communications office. Phone calls requesting comment were not immediately returned.

It's not clear why the store is closing or how many people will be losing their jobs. Neebo is a nationwide chain. According to the company's website Neebo is one of the nation's largest suppliers of textbooks with more than 250 stores located near college campuses across the country.
