A State College-based company that has been providing internet services since 1996 is continuing to expand across Pennsylvania.

Getwireless, Inc., announced this week that its wholly-owned subsidiary Lebanon Fiber, LLC has acquired Affiniti LLC's fiber network assets in Lebanon, Pa. According to a press release, the network currently serves a multitude of customers, including Harrisburg Area Community College’s Lebanon campus.

The fiber network runs around and through Lebanon and was originally built by Sting Communications before being sold to Austin, Texas-based Affiniti in 2014.

Through its DojoNetworks brand, Getwireless is growing across the Commonwealth and the United States. In Pennsylvania, it serves customers in areas such as Altoona, Indiana and Bloomsburg, in addition to State College, with a focus on business-class internet services for student, senior and multi-family housing, businesses and hotels. In Lebanon, the company plans to invest in infrastructure to provide the same level of service it does for customers in other areas.

The network is designed as a redundant ring so that it can provide reliable service and high-capacity bandwidth, which is currently at 20 Gb/s but can be expanded, according to the press release.

“We intend to service customers via both fiber and licensed millimeter wave microwave, offering them a choice and a competitive option to what is available today,” company President Dan Myers said. "Our best sales tool is our over 99.6% positive feedback from our customer base.”

Getwireless was recently named the No. 1 fastest fixed wireless provider in Pennsylvania and one of the top 10 fastest internet providers in Pennsylvania by BroadbandNow.
