by on October 12, 2017 1:36 PM

State College Area High School will celebrate Homecoming week with its annual parade on Thursday, resulting in some closed streets and traffic changes.

The parade begins at 6 p.m. and is expected to last about an hour and a half. The parade route will be closed to traffic starting at 5:45 p.m.

Starting at the high school parking lots, the parade will move east on Westerly Parkway to South Allen Street, north on South Allen Street to Nittany Avenue, and west on West Nittany Avenue to South Fraser Street.

South Fraser Street from Foster Avenue to Fairmount Avenue and the 100 and 200 blocks of West Nittany Avenue will be closed during the parade.

A pep rally will be held at Memorial Field following the parade, and streets adjacent to the stadium will be closed to traffic during that time.

Drivers traveling in the area of South Atherton Street and Westerly Parkway may experience delays and are asked to avoid the area if possible.
