Street Closures to Be in Place for State High Homecoming Parade

by on October 08, 2019 3:39 PM

State College Area High School's annual homecoming parade will be held on Thursday, and streets along the route will be closed to vehicle traffic and parking.

In past years the parade has made its way to a conclusion at Memorial Field. But with the stadium currently undergoing renovations, the parade will take a different route for this year, starting and ending at the high school.

Beginning at 6 p.m. in the high school parking lot, the parade will travel:

- West on Westerly Parkway

- North on Sparks Street

- West on Fairmount Avenue

- East on Westerly Parkway

Streets along the route will be closed from 5:30 p.m. to approximately 9 p.m. No parking will be permitted throughout the route for the entire day. Vehicles parked along the route will be ticketed and towed at the owner's expense, according to State College police.

Drivers may experience delays in the area during the parade.

The Little Lion football team will play its homecoming game against Central Dauphin at 7 p.m. Friday at the South Track field.
