by on April 13, 2018 8:31 PM

A Bald Eagle Area High School student was arrested on Friday after he allegedly made threats about shooting up the school and burning down houses.

Derek Landone Henry, 18, of Julian, is charged with one felony count and two misdemeanor counts of terroristic threats.

Pennsylvania State Police at Rockview responded to the high school at about 10 a.m. on Friday after school administrators reported they were made aware of threats made by Henry.

An investigation found that over the past few weeks, Henry made multiple comments about "shooting up the school" and being able to get away with it, police said. Multiple students heard or overheard the remarks.

He also allegedly threatened multiple students, saying he would burn down their homes and kill their families.

Henry was arraigned on Friday afternoon before District Judge Kelley Gillette-Walker. He was unable to post $750,000 straight monetary bail and was placed in the Centre County Correctional Facility.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for April 25.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
