on November 22, 2010 1:43 PM

Tires and wheels together worth several thousand dollars have been reported stolen from two State College car dealerships, municipal police said.

According to a State College police report, one or more people entered Stocker Chevrolet, 701 Benner Pike, at 11:04 p.m. Sunday; jacked up a 2006 Hummer H3; and removed four aluminum Hummer wheels equipped with four new Cooper Discoverer ST tires, size LT285x75. The suspect was -- or the suspects were -- driving a light-metallic-colored Dodge Durango, according to the report.

Police also discovered that a 2011 Dodge truck had been jacked up at Blaise Alexander Dodge, 1080 E. College Ave., they said. Four new 20x8 Ram chrome wheels and four Goodyear Wrangler HP P275x60R20 tires were reported stolen from that vehicle.

"In both incidents," a news release reads, "the suspect brought the car jacks to the scene and left them behind."

Police have released photos of the tires and wheels stolen from both dealerships. Those photos are posted to the right of this report.

Authorities are asking anyone with information about the thefts to call State College police at (814) 234-7150 or Centre County Crimestoppers at (877)-99-CRIME. Anonymous tips may be submitted through the borough website.
