Authorities say two people suffered critical injuries in a crash late Sunday.

The one-vehicle crash occurred about 11:24 p.m. in the 3900 block of West Whitehall Road, according to the Ferguson Township Police Department.

Authorities say speed and alcohol appear to be factors in the crash.

Authorities say an investigation revealed Wesley Duckworth, 32, of Patton Township, lost control of his vehicle while heading westbound at which point his vehicle hit a fence and tree at the Kocher Farm.

Duckworth was taken by helicopter to UPMC Altoona. His passenger, Jeremiah Dirsmith, 32, of Ferguson Township, was taken by ambulance to UPMC Altoona. Both occupants are in critical condition, police say.

The crash forced authorities to close the roadway for roughly four hours.

Assisting agencies included Centre Life Link EMS, Alpha Fire Police and Alpha Fire Company.
