Two Michigan State Basketball Players Involved in Morning Scuffle at Nittany Lion Inn
Penn State Police pulled the Michigan State University basketball team off of their bus this morning after responding to a report of two teammates fighting in the Nittany Lion Inn.
Penn State Police Chief Tyrone Parham said police responded to a report of an altercation between two Michigan State basketball players at 11:11 a.m. at the Nittany Lion Inn. When they arrived, the team was already on the bus, which was about to depart for the Bryce Jordan Center.
According to Diamond Leung, beat writer for MLive.com, the two players involved were Branden Dawson and Adreian Pyane, neither of who will start against Penn State tonight.
The men, who were not identified by police pending investigation, had a verbal dispute in the lobby area of the second floor that "didn't go well," Parham said.
One player punched the other in the face, who retaliated and punched the first player in the face.
Parham said one player was shoved into the wall, which caused some minor damage to the Inn.
Charges have not been filed, according to police because it is contingent on the action Dawson and Pyane choose to take.
