Volunteers and community members gathered to support the 34 United Way Partner Agencies Monday evening at the 2013 Centre County United Way Campaign Kickoff at The Lodge at Tussey Mountain.

The Pacesetter Campaign Total was announced at the event --  a total of $530,096 -- and it was added to the 2013 Campaign Thermometer. The total is 25% of the $2,100,000 goal set for the campaign. Members of the Centre County United Way Board of Directors, employees from the partner agencies and the United Way staff made their campaign contributions at the event.

The 2013 Campaign continues through the end of January.

This year's campaign slogan, "UNITED WE CAN," was also announced by 2013 Campaign co-chairs, Nick Lingenfelter and George Downsbrough.

"We can't do this alone,"Lingenfelter said. "Just as our partner agencies collaborate to provide programs that meet the needs of our community, our community must be united in the effort to support our agencies."

Pacesetter Campaign Co-Chairs, Mindy Dillon, Dianna Meckley and Colleen Williams of HRG thanked the 33 local companies that participated in their employee campaigns over the summer, including the State College Borough, Jersey Shore State Bank and Sam's Club.
