Urbas Looks to Finish Little Lion Career with State Title

by on February 22, 2019 6:00 PM

State College senior wrestler Cole Urbas heads into his final high school postseason looking to cap off an undefeated, 28-win regular season with more of the same.

One of the most dominant wrestlers in the state, Urbas earned his 100th career victory last month, a feat no Little Lion wrestler had accomplished in more than a decade. He enters this weekend's District 6 AAA tournament as the top seed at 195 pounds.

From there he will have his sights set on a state title at the PIAA Championships in March at Hershey's Giant Center. As a sophomore, he finished third and last season took second.

“My guess is he’ll win it this year. I’ll be proud of him no matter where he finishes, but I think that is where he should finish,” said State High Coach Ryan Cummins.

Centre County Report's Tommy Butler caught up with Urbas and Cummins ahead of the district championships to talk about the Little Lion wrestler's postseason preparation and goals.
