Watch: 5-Year-Old Fan Doesn't Want Saquon Barkley to Leave

Saquon Barkley announced Sunday evening he will forgo his senior season of eligibility and declare for the 2018 NFL draft. Barkley’s lasting legacy will stretch far beyond his play on the field in his three seasons in State College, including in the hearts of Penn State fans everywhere — even 5-year-old Gianna, who can’t understand why Barkley would ever want to play for any other team.

Gianna’s mom, Jenn Evans, posted her reaction video on Twitter on Monday afternoon. The video starts with Jenn asking Gianna why she’s said, to which she replies, “Because I don’t want Saquon Barkley to go away…he’s so good at Penn State.”

When she’s told Barkley will go to the NFL, she innocently asks, “What’s that?”

Gianna knows her players too, because she then says she doesn’t want Mike Gesicki to be all by himself at Penn State, “because Saquon and Mike Gesicki work together to win.”

Whether you’re 5 years old or 50 years old, it’s been a pleasure to watch No. 26 don the blue and white for the past three years.

Like James Franklin said, we don’t have the heart to tell her about Mike Gesicki, either.

Here’s more on how other Penn Staters and college football fans reacted to the news:
