Watch: State College and Penn State Alum Makes 'Tonight Show' Debut

by on December 07, 2018 10:37 AM

Comedian and State College native Joe Machi made his debut performance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon," on Thursday night.

Though it was Machi's first time on NBC's long-running late night institution, he's no stranger to television appearances. He made his network TV debut on NBC's "Late Night" in 2012, when it was hosted by Fallon, and finished fourth on "Last Comic Standing" in 2014.

Machi also performed on "Conan," in April, had his own Comedy Central half-hour special in 2016 and appeared on "The Chris Gethard Show" on TruTV.

A 1997 State High grad and 2002 Penn State grad, Machi worked as a supermarket manager and human resources assistant before moving to New York to pursue stand-up comedy full-time. He now does stand-up all over North America and will be performing in Vancouver this weekend.

Watch his "Tonight Show" set, where he jokes about preferring medication to dieting, being mistaken for a woman, why Disney World's Fast Pass is really so great and how bank security questions can change your life.

You can also check out Machi on his podcast, "Keeping Joe."
