Week Starts With Return to Wintry Weather, State College Schools Closed
After a weekend warmup that saw temperatures rise into the 40s, it's a return to more wintry weather.
A low pressure system is bringing rain and snow to the region Monday morning.
The State College Area School District now says schools will be closed for the day due to the weather. Earlier today, the district announced that schools would open on a two hour delay. The district cited additional snowfall and continuing poor road conditions for the change.
AccuWeather says the State College area will see a coating to an inch or two before the snow tapers off later today.
If you're traveling today keep an eye on weather conditions. Heavier snow will be falling closer to the Mason-Dixon line with four to eight inches predicted in some parts of southern Pennsylvania.
State College could see even more snow Tuesday night into Wednesday morning. There is the potential for heavier snowfall along with sleet and freezing rain.
