by on June 18, 2010 9:30 AM

A sunny, hot Friday is in store for State College today, so those of you starting your weekend outside need to remember the sunscreen and stay hydrated. There are many fun things going on this weekend both indoors and out, so check back each day for more suggestions.

Family Fun

  • For those longing for the days of drive-in movie theaters, stop by the Tussey Mountain Amphitheatre today at 8 p.m. and catch "Where The Wild Things Are." Tickets are $1, and food and beverages are available for purchase. Don't forget to bring a comfy lawn chair or blanket to relax on while you enjoy the movie. For more information click here.

  • "The Art of the Steal" is a 2009 documentary about a $25 billion art collection that belonged to Albert C. Barnes, who built a Philadelphia-area institution housing his breath-taking collection. The art collection is being fought over by powerful Philadelphia politicians and a group of Barnes' former students. This documentary was directed by Don Argott and was selected to be in the Toronto and New York film festivals. Tickets are $8 for the public and $6 for students and seniors. It will be shown today at 4 and 7:30 p.m. at the State Theatre. For more information click here.

Late Night

  • Test out your game-show knowledge and head down to the Gingerbread Man for team trivia tonight from 7 to 9 p.m. and enjoy daily drink specials. For all bar specials tonight visit the Bar Tour.

  • The United States will take on Slovenia at 10 this morning in the team's second match of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.

  • Woody, Buzz Lightyear and the rest of the "Toy Story" gang are back as "Toy Story 3" hits theaters tonight. The third and final installment of this triology centers on what the gang will do when its child owner, Andy, grows up and goes to college.
  • John Brolin plays a facially disfigured, rough-around-the-edges bounty hunter named Jonah Hex who goes about shooting up the wild, wild west until he finds and kills his oldest and most evil nemesis, Quentin Turnbull (John Malkovich).
