At the movies, "Beasts of the Southern Wild" opens this weekend. Watch six-year-old Hushpuppy, who, when faced with both her hot-tempered father's fading health and melting ice-caps that flood her ramshackle bayou community and unleash ancient aurochs, must learn the ways of courage and love.

Folk music legend Woody Guthrie would have turned 100 this year. The Los Angeles-based GRAMMY Museum — in conjunction with Woody Guthrie Publications, the Woody Guthrie Archives, and Penn State — celebrates Guthrie’s extraordinary body of work and impact on American music with a tribute concert featuring a star-studded lineup.

The Hardcore Mudd Run comes to State College this weekend! Between Saturday and Sunday, there will be a 5-10 mile mud run with up to 25 obstacles, making all other Mud Runs look like a kids play ground. This is an extremely challenging obstacle course that pushes a person to his or her physical and mental limits.
