Weekend Roundup From the Penn State Police Log
Penn State Police activity waned between Friday and Sunday, according to the police log, with only a few citations issued on Saturday during Penn State's season-opening football game against Ohio University.
Between 6 a.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday, police issued 11 citations for public drunkenness, 10 citations were issued to individuals under the age of 21 caught drinking and one DUI.
On Saturday, nine underage citations were issued either inside Beaver Stadium or one of the designated football parking lots and three citations were issued for public drunkenness.
Two citations were issued for cruelty to animals were issued. Two dogs were left in cars in the heat on Saturday in the football parking lots.
Police did not say what the condition of the dogs were when they were located.
Only one citation for underage drinking was issued between 6 a.m. Sunday and 6 a.m. Monday.
