Whitehall Road Construction Projects Hit Home Stretch

by on October 07, 2013 11:25 AM

After months of work two construction projects to rebuild Whitehall Road are now entering the final phase.

One project is being handled by PennDot. The other is being run by crews from Ferguson Township.

Next week, PennDot workers will begin paving the section of Whitehall Road that runs from University Drive to West College Avenue. Ferguson Township crews will be paving Whitehall Road between West College Avenue and Tadpole Road.

The paving work on both projects is scheduled to begin Oct. 14, weather permitting. It will take roughly two weeks to complete.

A detour for eastbound traffic remains in effect in the area from Tadpole Road to West College Avenue.  Once the paving is done, some additional work on the shoulder will begin. The detour should be lifted in another week, meaning that Whitehall Road west of College Avenue will be open to two-way traffic during the first week of November.

Work on both projects is on schedule and all construction should be completed by the end of the year.
