Holiday travelers may want to consider adjusting their weekend plans. AccuWeather has issued a winter weather advisory for much of northern Pennsylvania and down through the central mountains from 1 a.m. Friday to 7 p.m. Saturday.

According to AccuWeather, rain will change to snow overnight and fall heavy at times into Friday. Heavy, wet snow is expected to accumulate 3-5 inches deep, causing slick roadways and decreased visibility.

Winds are expected to shift west at 10-20 m.p.h., with gusts up to 30 m.p.h. by late Friday and into Saturday.
