Penn State Basketball: ESPN Networks Tab Penn State for Nine Games

As the college basketball season slowly approaches, Penn State basketball fans can begin to make plans for the 2012-13 season after the Big Ten Conference announced game times for their league slate Wednesday afternoon.

For fans that are unable to make the trip to Happy Valley, nine games will be seen on ESPN networks and 12 will be broadcast on the Big Ten Network.

On Saturday, Jan. 26, Ohio State will take on Penn State on ESPN2 at 12 p.m. tip at the Bryce Jordan Center.

Penn State will have at least six Big Ten games televised on ESPNU, including home matchups vs. Northwestern (Thurs., Jan. 10, at 8 p.m.), Nebraska (Sat., Jan. 19, at 1 p.m.) and Iowa (Thurs., Feb. 14, at 9 p.m.).

Big Ten road dates at Iowa (Thurs., Jan. 31, at 8 p.m.), Nebraska (Sat., Feb. 9, at 9 p.m.) and Northwestern (Thurs., March 7, at 7 p.m.) will also appear on ESPNU.

Out of the Big Ten, Penn State will appear on the ESPN family of networks twice. 

The Nov. 15 matchup with ESPN preseason No. 6 North Carolina State in the Puerto Rico Tip-off is set for a 5 p.m. tip on ESPN2.

The Lions will face Boston College in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge on Nov. 28 (9:15 p.m.) at the Jordan Center in the first of seven appearances on ESPNU.

The Nittany Lions will be in action on Saturday, Nov. 3, when Penn State takes on coach Patrick Chambers’ alma-mater, Philadelphia University, in a 4 p.m. tip. The exhibition can be seen on BTN.com.
