Florida safety Neiko Robinson has given Penn State coach Bill O'Brien a verbal commitment, several outlets reported Monday.

Robinson, a 5-foot-11, 170-pounder from Northview High School in Bratt, Fla., gives the Nittany Lions nine verbal commitments for their 2013 recruiting class.

He is rated a three-star prospect by and had a scholarship offer from UAB. He also had received interest from Florida, Florida International, Florida State and Troy.

As a junior, Robinson recorded 93 tackles, four interceptions and recovered one fumble.

Robinson's commitment is the first for Penn State since April 15, when offensive guard Andrew Nelson from Hershey High School gave his pledge.
