State College Police Investigating Armed Robbery

Two men, one with a pistol, forced their way into an apartment between 9 and 9:30 a.m. at 924 Bellaire Ave. on Tuesday and stole cash and property belonging to the residents.

One of the suspects is described as a black male with a light complexion and short black hair. He stands about 5-foot-10 and has a thin build. He wore a black polo shirt with an emblem on the chest area and shorts made of sweatpants material.

The second suspect is a black male with a dark complexion and beard on his chin that was approximately six inches long. He was about six feet tall with a thin build and wore dark, baggy clothing. He carried a pistol during the robbery.

After the robbery the men entered an older model, tan, four-door car parked on Bellaire Avenue and drove away from the scene.

Police ask anyone with information regarding the incident, please contact Detective Steve Bosak at 814-234-7150, call CrimeStoppers at 1-877-992-7463 or submit an anonymous tip through the web.

The investigation is open.

Police also fielded calls from at least three people who had backpacks stolen on Monday.

Items including a Sony laptop, a digital camera and a passport were in the stolen backpack, amounting in a total loss of $1,936 to the owner. The backpack was stolen around 1 p.m. Monday from 137 Hartswick Ave. 

Two more backpacks were stolen at 3:10 p.m. Monday from 747 E. Beaver Ave. Police could not provide a value, but both investigations are open.
